Just a month after the permanent Eurovision slogan ‘United by Music’ was announced, the EBU with the Swedish Broadcaster SVT have revealed the theme art for Malmo, the ‘Eurovision Lights’.
It is another novelty for the contest since this year there is not a specific logo, but a concept. The ‘Eurovision Lights’ theme is based on the vertical lines that northern lights and sound equalizers form, representing the Nordic country hosting the contest and the music nature of the contest. It is a combination of bright colours, inspired by previous Eurovision logos, that are seen in different combinations and forms.
It is a modern concept that can be adapted both in physical form and digitally. It will be seen in digital platforms, across the three live shows and in Malmo streets.
The concept was designed by Johan Bello from the Swedish production company Uncut.
What do you think of the ‘Eurovision Lights’? Do you like the concept of a versatile theme art? Let us know in the comments! We look forward to seeing the bold colours lighting up Malmo streets in May!
