Top 5 by odds!

Happy Eurovision month, fellow Eurofans!

It is officially May, and the countdown to Basel has begun! Artists are arriving in Switzerland, Lumo (the first Eurovision mascot) made an appearance in the streets of Basel, and rehearsals are underway. How time flies- we still remember like yesterday when the first song of the season was released (even if it was in 2024)!

Today we will have a look at the odds table and discuss the top 5 favourites to win this year’s contest. Remember, while odds provide a snapshot, everything can change once we see the live performances and staging.

So here it is, the Top 5- 2025 edition:

1: Sweden: Kaj – ‘Bara Bada Bastu’

Sweden, the titan of Eurovision. It’s not surprising seeing this country on the top of the chart- they are trying so hard to overtake Ireland and become the country with the most Eurovision victories. Sweden is represented this year by the Finnish (!!) trio Kaj with a song celebrating the joys of sauna culture. Since winning Melodifestivalen, they have topped the odds charts, currently holding a 39% chance of winning. Having attended many Pre-Parties, chatting with fans and showing their dance moves and their humour, they won many people’s hearts and they are the favourite to win this year.

2: Austria: JJ- ‘Waisted Love’

Another country that has been in the top of the odds since the release of the song. But that wasn’t surprising since the song delivers goosebumps to the listeners. The heartfelt lyrics coupled with JJ’s amazing operatic vocals are something magical that no one can say a negative thing about it. Currently it is second in the odds with 16% chance of winning. Could JJ bring the trophy in Austria? We will find out soon!

3. France: Louane- ‘Maman’

This is one of the most anticipated songs of the year. Since Louane was announced as France’s representative, the country was lingering at the top of the odds. Her established career and passionate delivery have propelled France to an 8% chance of victory. Her song ‘Maman‘ is nothing but an emotional, powerful ballad, and with Louane’s vocals a very strong entry to this year’s contest. Would we see France taking the victory after — years?

4: Israel: Yuval Raphael – ‘New Day Will Rise

Israel will be represented by Yuval Raphael and her song ‘New Day Will Rise‘. It is a powerful ballad and with her vocals a strong entry to win, currently holding a 5% chance. Do you like the song? Do you think it has a chance of winning? Let us know.

5: Netherlands: Claude – ‘C’est La Vie

C’est la vie. That’s what Claude sings (in French) for Netherlands and he is currently the 5th favourite to win this year. It’s a catchy, uplifting song that brings a fresh energy to the contest. With a 5% chance of victory , Claude’s performance could be a delightful surprise on the Eurovision stage.
