The battle was fierce — Innsbruck vs Vienna — but in the end, the Austrian capital took the crown! Vienna will officially host the 70th Eurovision Song Contest next May, and we couldn’t be more excited.
This marks Vienna’s third time welcoming Eurovision, following 1967 and 2015.
The Venue
The grand final will take place at Wiener Stadthalle, Austria’s largest indoor arena, on Saturday 16th of May. Semi-finals will take place earlier in the week on Tuesday, 12 May and Thursday, 14 May.
Key Locations Around the City
The Opening Ceremony and Euroclub will be hosted at the stunning Vienna City Hall and Eurovision Village in the square outside.
Fan Facts: Get to know Vienna
Let’s take a quick tour through the charms of our 2026 host city:
- Musical Powerhouse: Vienna has been home to more world-famous composers than any other city — think Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Schubert, and Strauss. It’s basically the OG Eurovision lineup.
- Eurovision Legacy: Vienna last hosted in 2015 for the 60th anniversary contest — also at Wiener Stadthalle — bringing us iconic moments like Conchita’s “Building Bridges” hosting debut.
- Architectural Wonderland: From imperial palaces to Art Nouveau gems, Vienna is a feast for the eyes.
- Â City of Dreams:Â Vienna earned this dreamy nickname thanks to Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis, who lived and worked here.
- A Green Capital: Over 50% of Vienna is green space. Think lush parks, gardens, and even vineyards within city limits!
- World’s Oldest Zoo: The Tiergarten Schönbrunn, dating back to 1752, is the oldest operating zoo in the world — and still a top attraction today.Â
So… Are you ready for Eurovision in Vienna?
We definitely are — and we’re already dreaming of waltzing our way to May 2026.
