Azerbaijan has internally selected Jiva to represent the country with her song ‘Just Go’. The entry was chosen from 186 submissions!
Who is Jiva?
Jiva, whose real name is Jamila Hashimova, first gained national recognition after winning the third season of The Voice Azerbaijan. Her musical style is characterised by pop, dance and R&B influences. She has released several singles has been steadily building her music career.
The song ‘Just Go’ is a n emotional breakup ballad, exploring the pain of letting go of a relationship that can no longer continue. With her powerful vocals and emotional delivery, Jiva hopes to make a strong impression on the Eurovision stage.
Czechia
Czechia has also opted for an internal selection, choosing Daniel Zizka to represent the country with his song “Crossroads.”
The young artist was selected from more than 260 submissions, highlighting the strong interest from Czech musicians hoping to reach the Eurovision stage.
Who is Daniel?
At just 23 years old, Daniel Zizka is already being recognised as one of the promising new talents in the Czech music scene. His music blends indie pop with ambient and atmospheric elements. He has gained attention for his introspective songwriting. His debut EP is expected to be released soon, which could further boost his rising career.
“Crossroads” is a deeply personal track exploring mental health struggles and the battle with one’s own thoughts. The reflective tone and emotional vulnerability could make Czechia’s entry one of the most moving songs of the year.
Romania
Romania is returning to the contest after a 2 year break. This year Alexandra Căpitănescu will wave the Romanian flag with the song ‘Choke Me‘. She won the national final Selecția națională 2026, where the winner was determined exclusively by a jury vote.
Who is Alexandra?
Alexandra first came to national attention after winning season 11 of The Voice of Romania in 2023. Since then she has quickly built a growing music career; she released her debut EP and several singles and toured across Romania. And if that wasn’t impressive enough — she is currently studying for a master’s degree in physics, balancing academia with her music career.
“Choke Me” stands out musically as a nu metal track, featuring intense instrumentation and powerful vocals. Its darker, heavier sound could make Romania one of the most distinctive entries in the contest this year.
