Calling all Melody Grand Prix fans! Today, the Norwegian broadcaster NRK revealed the 9 artists who will compete in the country’s prestigious national final, Melodi Grand Prix (MGP) 2025! The grand show will take place on Saturday, 15th of February, at the iconic Oslo Spektrum, the very venue that hosted Eurovision in 1996.
Among the contenders are beloved MGP veterans, Eurovision legends, and fresh new faces ready to light up the stage. Let’s dive in and meet the artists fighting for the chance to represent Norway at Eurovision!
Bobbysocks – ”Joyful”
Bobbysocks are back to celebrate their 40th anniversary since bringing Norway its first Eurovision victory in 1985 with their iconic hit “La Det Swinge“! The duo, Hanne Krogh and Elisabeth Andreassen, are legends in their own right. Their new song, “Joyful,” is all about embracing happiness even during life’s toughest moments. Can these Eurovision queens recapture the magic and take Norway to victory once again?

Tone Damli- ”Last Song”
One of Norway’s biggest stars, Tone Damli, is back for her third shot at MGP glory. Tone made waves in 2009 when she finished 2nd with her heartfelt ballad “Butterflies.” This year, she’s performing “Last Song,” a powerful track about endings and new beginnings. Will this be the start of her Eurovision dream?

Kyle Alessandro- ”Lighter”
At just 18 years old, Kyle Alessandro is already making waves in the music industry. The young artist and producer previously competed in MGP 2023 as part of Umami Tsunami. Now, he’s stepping into the spotlight solo with “Lighter,” an emotional tribute to his mother’s strength during her battle with cancer. Kyle’s unique blend of Norwegian folk, South American, and Japanese influences promises a captivating performance.

Nora Jabri- ”Sulale”
Nora Jabri’s MGP comeback is highly anticipated! In 2012, she stole hearts and claimed 2nd place with “Somewhere Beautiful.” Now 28, Nora has honed her craft, studying music at Berklee in Boston and drawing inspiration from her Norwegian and Arabic heritage. Her song, “Sulale” (“Bloodline”), is a rich tapestry celebrating her roots and identity.

Sondrey – ”Vagabond”
Sondrey is no stranger to the MGP stage, having competed in 2020. Known for his smooth mix of R&B and Afrobeats, his new track, “Vagabond,” explores themes of freedom and self-discovery. With influences from his Scandinavian and African heritage, Sondrey’s performance promises to be both soulful and energetic.

Nataleen – ”The Game”
After gaining fame on The Voice Norway, Nataleen’s career has skyrocketed. Her song, “The Game,” is a sultry, empowering anthem about navigating relationships and staying true to yourself. Nataleen’s vocal prowess and charismatic stage presence could make her a dark horse in this year’s competition.

Ladybug – ”Hot as Hell in Paradise”
Singer-songwriter Iris Severine Mikalsen, aka Ladybug, is known for her heartfelt lyrics and unique sound. Her song, “Hot as Hell in Paradise,” captures the intoxicating allure of forbidden love with fiery passion and irresistible melodies. Will her emotional storytelling charm the audience?

Wig Wam- ”Human Fire”
Glam rock legends Wig Wam are back! They famously represented Norway at Eurovision 2005 with their rock anthem “In My Dreams,” finishing 9th. This year, as they celebrate their 20th anniversary, they’re bringing the heat with “Human Fire,” a rallying cry for individuality and self-expression. LLL-”Parasite”
Newcomers LLL, a pop girl group inspired by the likes of the Spice Girls and Britney Spears, are ready to make their mark. Members Sofia-Augusta Thoresen, Rebecca Pleym, and Elisabet Drøsdal bring infectious energy to their song “Parasite,” a cheeky yet empowering anthem about cutting toxic relationships out of your life.
