Another Eurovision, another unforgettable experience—and of course, another appreciation post! Earlier this month, we packed our bags and headed to Basel for the first semi-final to cheer on our country. Although the result wasn’t exactly what we hoped for, the memories were next level!
This year was extra special: it was our first time with accreditation! That meant access to the media centre, connecting with other creators, meeting artists, and attending the first dress rehearsals. We still can’t believe how lucky we were to be part of it all. So in this post, we’re taking you along for the ride—from arrival to arena—through the glittery wonderland that was Eurovision 2025 in Basel.
Touchdown at the Most Eurovision Airport Ever
We landed on Sunday at EuroAirport, and wow—it lived up to its name. From the moment we stepped into arrivals, it felt like we had walked straight into a Eurovision dream. Country-heart flags everywhere, lyrics from past songs on the walls, and welcome messages in multiple languages—it was like the contest had already started at baggage claim!

*Fun fact: EuroAirport is super unique because it has two exits—one into France and one into Switzerland.

Home Base: Basel City & Euro-Hotspots
We stayed in central Basel, just a 10-minute walk from the Euroclub—convenience level: 12 points. The Euroclub and EuroVillage were in the heart of the MesseQuartier right next to each other and both indoors– it was the first ever indoor Eurovision village!
The EuroVillage was massive, split into three fun-packed sections:
- Brand Zone – This was sponsor heaven. EasyJet let you strut your stuff on a runway, Novartis turned you into a scientist for a photo op, and photobooths were everywhere. Hello, content!
- Food & Drink – A glorious mix of German and Swiss goodies, sweet treats, and a Baileys van. Yes, you read that right. There was even free coffee (Espresso espresso, no need to be depresso ☕).
- Main Stage – The heart of the village. We caught a full one-hour concert by Luca Hänni—and yes, he absolutely delivered.

The Turquoise Carpet Parade 💙
This year’s Turquoise Carpet was the longest in Eurovision history—and it wasn’t just long, it was legendary. The public was invited, and the streets of Basel were lined with fans and families ready to welcome the stars.

And the best part? The artists arrived in trams. TRAMS! 🚋 Like a Eurovision royal procession, they paraded through the city surrounded by live music, performers in traditional Swiss costumes, and Basel’s very own UNESCO-protected carnival crew. It was magical.

After the parade, artists stepped into the main hall for interviews and press moments, shining in their glam and glitter.
St. Jakobshalle: Arena of Dreams 💡🎇
St. Jakobshalle Arena was centrally located and easy to reach thanks to the trusty Basel trams connecting it with the EuroVillage and Euroclub. Inside? Pure Eurovision wonderland. The stage design featured mountain silhouettes and techno hearts, and it looked stunning from every angle.

A special shoutout to the catwalk-style corridor linking the main stage to a smaller one—it brought the performers closer to the fans, wherever you were sitting. We had tickets for the first semi-final live show, and let’s just say… chills. 😍
Some standout moments:
- Justina’s dramatic lift drop, followed by her sprint to the dancers? ICONIC.
- Tommy’s fan (yes, it was part of the act!) jumping on stage to join the choreo.
- Theo’s insane scaffolding stunts—gravity? Who?
- And of course, the 2024 legends, including our favourite Marina Satti, gracing the stage for a tribute to Celine Dion’s

Final Thoughts 💭
Basel didn’t just host Eurovision. It lived and breathed it. From the moment we landed to the final “douze points,” the whole city turned into a celebration of music, culture, and unity. We left with full hearts, tired feet, and endless memories (and maybe a few too many free badges and Baileys lattes).

So to Basel: Merci! Danke! Thank you!
And to you reading this: Pack your suitcase and relive the glittery madness with us. 🧳💫
See you next year in Austria!!
