Happy National Independence Day, Armenia! To celebrate, we have written a blog post about the country’s Eurovision journey.
Armenia has participated in the contest 17 times, starting with their debut in 2006 in Athens, where Andre performed ‘Without Your Love’ and secured 8th place. Although Armenia has yet to win Eurovision, they’ve made it to the grand final 13 times and finished in the top 10 on eight occasions. The country’s best results came in 2008 and 2014: in 2008, Sirusho’s ethno-pop hit “Qele, Qele” placed 4th, and in 2014, Aram MP3 also took the 4th place with the song “Not Alone”.
But the country’s international success came in 2022 with Rosa Linn and her song ‘Snap’. Despite finishing 20th in the grand final in Turin, the song became Armenia’s biggest hit, going viral on TikTok and putting Armenia in the global charts. It even became the second Eurovision song to reach billion streams on Spotify, following Duncan Laurence’s ‘Arcade’.
While Armenia has never hosted the Eurovision Song Contest, they proudly hosted the Junior Eurovision twice, in 2010 and 2021!
As of now, Armenia hasn’t confirmed their participation for 2025- they have until mid-October to submit their application. Do you think we will see Armenia next year? We certainly hope so!
