The time has come to have our first artist for the class of 2026. And once again, Cyprus is the first country to reveal its act — for the second year in a row! It was announced by the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation that Antigoni will represent the country in the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna.
Who is Antigoni?
Antigoni Buxton is a British-Cypriot singer and songwriter, born and raised in North London. You might remember her from Love Island UK (Season 8, 2022), but long before reality TV, she was already crafting her own songs and dreaming of the stage.
A graduate of the BRIT School (the same music academy that produced stars like Adele and Amy Winehouse!), Antigoni began writing music as a teenager. In her early twenties, she signed with Island Records, shaping her unique sound — a blend of modern pop with Greek /Middle Eastern flavours. She represents her Cypriot heritage through her music and appearances, singing at her concerts traditional Cypriot songs and blending greek with english lyrics.
Over the past few years, Antigoni has released several singles, including “Long Way Home”, “Never Gonna Love” and “Hit List”. In 2025, she toured across Europe and opened concerts for Greek powehouses Marina Satti and Eleni Foureira – two Eurovision queens in their own right!
We don’t yet know what Antigoni’s Eurovision song will sound like — but judging by her previous work, we’re expecting something fiery, fresh, and proudly Mediterranean.
One thing’s for sure: with her confidence, charisma, and fresh musical identity, Antigoni is ready to make Cyprus shine on the Eurovision stage once again.
We can’t wait to see her waving the Cypriot flag high in Vienna next year!
Are you excited about Antigoni’s selection? What kind of song do you hope she brings to Eurovision? Let us know in the comments below — the 2026 season is officially ON!
