Yesterday marked the start of the new Eurovision year, and what an exciting beginning it was! The first artist for Basel 2025 has been announced, and it’s a special one—our home country Cyprus! This morning, the Cypriot broadcaster CyBC revealed that Theo Evan will represent Cyprus at Eurovision 2025.
Who is Theo Evan?
Theo Evan is a talented Cypriot singer and songwriter born in Nicosia. His passion for singing and dancing emerged at a young age; he began dance lessons at just seven years old and participated in numerous dance shows and competitions across the island. His love for music and performance eventually led him to the United States, where he studied at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. In 2021, Theo released his debut single, “The Wall,” a dance track with reggaeton influences. Since then, he has continued to release a series of singles.
While Theo’s Eurovision song will be released at a later date, we can’t help but wonder—will Cyprus go for another dance hit, or perhaps a more sentimental ballad this time? Let us know your thoughts!
