New Artists (Belgium, Ireland, Finland)

Eurovision 2025 is just around the corner, and with it comes an exciting lineup of new artists ready to light up the stage! This year’s competition promises a mix of fresh talent, bold sounds, and unforgettable performances. Let’s meet some of the new artists who will be making their Eurovision debut and bringing their unique styles to the contest!

Belgium: Red Sebastian – ‘Strobe Lights’
Red Sebastian will represent Belgium with the song ‘Strobe Lights’. He won Eurosong 2025, winning both the jury and televote to secure his ticket to Basel.

Who is Red Sebastian?
Born Seppe Guido Yvonne Herreman, Red Sebastian is a Belgian singer-songwriter with a passion for music and a love for… Disney! His stage name is inspired by Sebastian, the iconic red crab from The Little Mermaid, one of his childhood favorites.

Red Sebastian first captured the public’s attention at just 14 years old when he made it to the finals of Belgium’s Got Talent. Since then, he has built a strong career, releasing his debut album ‘You’ in 2021 and signing with CNR Records.
His Eurovision entry, ‘Strobe Lights,’ is a techno-inspired hit that transports listeners to a fun night out, filled with flashing lights and endless energy. Get ready to dance!

Ireland: Emmy – ‘Laika Party’
Emmy won Eurosong 2025, held during the Irish talk show The Late Late Show, with her song ‘Laika Party’ and will represent Ireland in Eurovision 2025. She won both the Irish jury and televote and finished second in the international jury vote.

Who is Emmy?
Emmy
is a Norwegian singer. She is no stranger to Eurovision world. She participated in Melodi Grand Prix Junior 2015 with the song ‘Aiaiaiai’ and later returned to Melodi Grand Prix 2021 with ‘Witch Woods’. She even served on the Norwegian jury for Eurovision 2023! This year she decided to try her luck with Ireland- a country that she actually never visited before until the Eurosong!

Her song, ‘Laika Party,’ tells the story of Laika the dog, the first living being to orbit Earth. But instead of focusing on the tragedy of her fate, Emmy reimagines a different ending—one where Laika never dies but instead enjoys an endless, cosmic party in space. “I hope Laika never died and that she spins around us still,” she sings. A song that’s both heartfelt and danceable? Eurovision has everything!

Finland: Erika Vikman- ‘Ich Komme’

Finland is turning up the heat for Eurovision 2025 with none other than Erika Vikman! She stole the show at UMK 2025 with her infectious track ‘Ich Komme’ (which means “I’m coming” in German), securing a massive 41.04% of the public vote and finishing second with the jury. With those numbers, it’s clear that Finland is all in for Erika!

Who is Erika Vikman?
Erika Vikman is one of the biggest names in Finnish music. She started her career as a Finnish tango singer, winning Tangomarkkinat in 2016. But it was in 2020 that her career sky-rocketed, when she competed in UMK with ‘Cicciolina’. Though she finished second, the song became a smash hit in Finland and beyond.

Her self-titled debut album, released in 2021, topped the Finnish charts, solidifying her as one of the country’s biggest stars. Eurofans may also recognize her from her fiery collaboration with Käärijä on ‘Ruoska‘.

Now, she’s back with ‘Ich Komme‘, a high-energy blend of Finnish disco and electronic beats, sung in both Finnish and German. If her past performances are anything to go by, we’re in for an electrifying show in Basel! Are you ready to dance? Because we certainly are!
