The Eurovision 2026 lineup keeps getting stronger. Finland, Germany and Serbia have now chosen their representatives — and each act brings something completely different to the stage. From a dramatic violin duet to a German pop star and a progressive metal band making history.
Finland
Finland has chosen an unforgettable duo. Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen won Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK 2026) with their explosive entry “Liekinheitin” — which translates to “Flamethrower.” Their victory was dominant: 570 points overall, far ahead of the runner-up. They swept both the jury vote and the televote, making them clear winners of the competition. The song has already become a commercial success in Finland and is currently one of the favourites to win in Eurovision betting odds.
Who are they?
Linda Lampenius is one of Finland’s most internationally recognised violinists. She began playing the violin at a very young age. As a child, she joined the Helsinki Junior Strings orchestra. Her classical solo album became one of Finland’s best-selling classical releases. Over the years, she has built a global career, touring across Europe, Asia and the United States.
Pete Parkkonen is a well-known Finnish pop artist. He rose to fame in 2008 after finishing third in Idols Finland. His debut album reached number one in Finland. Since then, he has released several successful albums and toured widely.
“Liekinheitin” was composed by both artists and explores the idea of a “fiery yet frozen” relationship. This contrast is reflected in the music itself, where Lampenius’ violin and Parkkonen’s vocals interact almost like a dialogue, creating a dramatic and emotional performance.
With its unique mix of classical instrumentation and modern pop energy, Finland could be a serious contender this year.
Germany
Germany has selected Sarah Engels to represent the country at Eurovision 2026 with her song “Fire.” She won the German National Final Das deutsche Finale after qualifying for the superfinal and topping the televote, securing her place in Vienna.
Who is Sarah Engels?
Sarah Engels is a German pop singer and television personality who has been a familiar face in the country’s music scene for years. She first gained national attention on Deutschland sucht den Superstar. After the show, she launched a successful music career. She has released multiple albums and singles that charted in Germany. Beyond music, she has appeared in television shows and built a large fanbase.
“Fire” is a high-energy pop dance anthem designed to light up the Eurovision stage. The performance is expected to feature vibrant staging, strong vocals and a party atmosphere — something Germany hopes will stand out in Vienna.
Serbia
Serbia has chosen Lavina to represent the country at Eurovision 2026. The band won Pesma za Evroviziju with their song “Kraj Mene” (which translates to “Next to Me”).
Their victory was decisive, as they won both the jury vote and the televote.
Who are Lavina?
Lavina is a progressive metal band formed in 2020 that has quickly built a reputation in the European alternative music scene. They released their debut album Odyssey in 2022. The band has performed at multiple festivals across Europe. They are known for blending heavy instrumentation with melodic elements and emotional storytelling.
Interestingly, “Kraj Mene” marks an important milestone for the band — it is their first song performed in Serbian, their native language.
This could make Serbia’s entry one of the most distinctive in this year’s contest, especially with a genre that’s rarely seen on the Eurovision stage.
