More and more artists are securing their ticket to Malmo in May, with more songs being added to our ESC2024 playlist!
In this article we will update you about the latest artists reveals so you are up-to-date with the Euro-news. Here we go!
Tali for Luxembourg:
Luxembourg is making its big return after a 30-year absence from the contest. Tali is picking up the baton from Modern Times that represented the country in 1993 and will perform her song ‘Fighter’ in Malmo. She issued her Euro-ticket by winning the internal Luxembourg Song Contest that happened on Saturday 27th of January. The show featured performances from former Luxembourg winners Vicky Leandros (‘Apres Toi’, 1972) and Anne-Marie David (‘Tu Te Reconaitras’, 1973) but also from some other Eurovision champions including Alexander Rybak (‘Fairytale’, 2009), Ruslana (‘Wild dances’, 2004), Katrina and the Waves (‘Love Shine a Light’,1997) and Charolotte Nilsson(‘Take Me To Your Haven’, 1999). Tali is only 23-years old and lives in NY where she works as a vocal coach and music teacher. Her song ‘Fighter’ is a dynamic pop entry about being strong and never giving up, with some ethnic elements. We are happy to have you back Luxembourg!
Besa for Albania:
Besa Kokëdhima will represent Albania in Malmo with her song ‘Zemrën N’dorë’, which means ‘Heart in Hand’. She secured her Malmo ticket by winning the Festivali i Këngës 62 final on the 22nd of December in Tirana, where she gained the victory by the public vote. She confirmed that the song will change ahead of the contest and will be re-released soon- maybe with some lyric changes in English and more commercial elements? We will look forward to it!
Bambie for Ireland:
This is one of the most talked acts so far. Bambie Thug won the Irish ‘The Late late show’ with their song ‘Doomsday Blue’ and will represent Ireland in Malmo. Born in Cork, they are an independent artist based in London and known for their unique style which combines punk, scremo and dark metal. They have performed at Download festival, a famous rock festival in UK and they also wrote songs for artists of different music genres. Their performance of Doomsday Blue involved gothic outfits, scary make-up, sharp dance moves and some interesting vocals. We look forward to seeing Bambie’s performance on the Malmo stage!
